What Do We Do?

De Casagrande is a modern foreign languages training, development and consultancy company.

1. We run languages courses in France & Spain  for English-speaking primary school teachers.

We use the principle of 'immersion', taking English speaking primary school teachers who have to teach French & Spanish and immersing them in the culture and language of France & Spain.  Teachers spend time in France or Spain improving their French language skills, their intercultural understanding and their languages teaching methodology and pedagogy.

2. We run leadership and management courses in France & Spain for English-speaking primary school teachers.

We also believe that the effective leadership and management of languages is a critical success factor in school effectiveness. That's why we run Languages Subject Leaders Courses in France & Spain. It doesn't matter which language your school teaches, if you're responsible for languages, then this course is a must for you.

3. We provide training, development and consultancy services to Local Authorities, Children's Services and individual schools.

De Casagrande works with local authorities to ensure that modern foreign languages programmes meet schools' needs and the requirements of the National Languages Strategy.

How we do it...

De Casagrande works with and through Children's Services and Local Authorities. Our underpinning rationale is that if a group of teachers from the same geographic locality attend training at the same time they can be supported through local networks after the training has finished. These networks may take the form of School Learning Networks, a local language network or a local authority/regional network. These networks can be supported by a variety of people:- local authority advisers, primary languages consultants, advanced skills teachers and secondary languages teachers. De Casagrande is also able to support post-training networks, working with Local Authorities through it's 'Cascade' model.
